Michael completed his physiotherapy degree at the University of The Witwatersrand of Johannesburg, South Africa in 2005. He first started working in the public health sector before turning his focus to the private sectors working with everyday injuries and sports-related injuries.
Michael is highly experienced in treating various musculoskeletal problems and has had extensive post-graduate training in manual therapy, acupuncture, Pilates and core functioning, workstation ergonomics and sports specific rehabilitation.
Michael has continued his professional development since graduating with courses in Acupuncture, advanced shoulder, knee and ankle courses, Kinesiology Taping and manual manipulation classes. He has a special interest in acute and chronic neuro-musculoskeletal conditions; Lumbar spine dysfunctions such as sciatica, pre and post-natal back pain and postural related symptoms; Cervical conditions such as whiplash and tension headaches; Sport specific rehabilitation of the shoulders, knees and ankles.
Michael is passionate about manual hands-on treatments and integrating different treatment modalities to achieve the best result for the patients. He loves getting involved in the rehabilitation and planning of return to sport and exercises with his patients.
Michael has worked with various sports teams in South Africa in the past and has a personal interest in tag rugby, badminton, basketball, and squash. He represented South African KZN county badminton while in South Africa. He was included in the amateur England Squad to participate in the Tag Rugby World Cup which took place in New Zealand in 2012.
Michael also worked in the backstage for the dancers and celebrities in the South African version of Strictly Come Dancing in 2007-2008.
